Process
Step 1 - You will be broken into pairs by the teacher. Each pair will be given $200 to spend on the entire trip. One person will plan the trip while the other one is in charge of the finances. Even though you all will have different jobs, you still need to work together to figure out if you have enough money for different activities and if you have extra money to spend on different things such as souvenirs. The teacher will tell you which person gets which job.
Step 2 - Start to plan your trip. The planner will pick which zoo they want to go to and the financer will decide how much it will cost to get there and back. Consider if you are driving or flying there and figure out the expense for whichever one you choose. There are resources on the resource tab that can help you with this step.
Step 3 - With the rest of the money, you will need to plan the rest of your trip and activities at the zoo. Keep in mind that there might be expenses for food, admission, parking, etc. You will need to keep a record of what you are spending your money on and how much everything is costing to keep a running balance and an end balance. There are resources on the resource tab to help with this step.
Step 4 - Make a presentation for the class about the trip you have planned. The presentation needs to be detailed and should included everything that you planned for your trip. There is a resource you can use on the resource tab to help with this step.
Step 5 - Give your presentations to the class.
